- Djokovic will face 15th seed Schwartzman on Sunday
Defending champion Novak Djokovic needed only an hour and 44 minutes to win his men’s singles third-round match against Aljaz Bedene of Slovenia. The Serb, a 20-time Grand Slam champion, continued his perfect run as he is yet to drop a set at this year’s Roland Garros.
Djokovic sailed into the 4th round of the French Open for the 13th successive year as he looks in top gear in his first Grand Slam appearance of the year. Djokovic’s French Open readiness was questioned but the Serb gathered steam by winning the Italian Open earlier this month.
On Friday, Djokovic showcased that he is ready for the long haul at Roland Garros by outclassing experienced Bedene for the 4th time in his career, clinching the quickest of his three wins this year at the clay-court Grand Slam.

Djokovic will next face 15th seed Diego Schwartzman who outclassed Grigor Dimitrov in his 3rd-round match. The Argentina star is in good form but he has a 0-6 head-to-head record against Djokovic. Schwartzmann had pushed Djokovic to the limits in the 3rd round of the 2017 French Open, going down in 5 sets.
