Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson said that luck and toss played a huge role in the result after Gujarat Titans rode on David Miller’s heroics to beat his side by 7 wickets at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on Tuesday and reach the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022
Notably, Miller hit a hat-trick of sixes in the final over to help Gujarat gun down the 189-run target and the Hardik Pandya-led side reached the final of the(IPL) 2022 in their maiden IPL campaign.
“Happy with the score. The wicket was a bit sticky. It was helping bowlers, there was swing in the powerplay. It was two-paced, and bounce was not even. I was lucky to get a few runs in the powerplay,” Samson said in the post-match presentation ceremony after Rajasthan lost Qualifier 1.
“That kind of total in that kind of conditions was great… Having Riyan helps [as a bowling option], but the wicket was good to bat in the second innings. We have been playing good cricket… Couple of overs and extra runs here and there… Luck plays a huge role; toss plays a huge role. Controllable is just to come back and express yourself,” Samson added.
