  • Rajasthan Royals came close but were robbed by David Miller’s excellent innings
  • Jos Buttler would like to continue his run scoring form

Rajasthan Royals are up against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the second Qualifier in the Indian Premier League 2022. Being played in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Royals will be getting one more shot at placing themselves in the final of the 2022 edition of the league after being beaten by a blistering David Miller knock earlier in the Eden Gardens.

Rajasthan would be hoping that the Titans game was just a blip and that they return to the winning ways shouldered by their senior players – Ravichandran Ashwin and Jos Buttler. Ashwin has especially good in the tournament. Apart from taking 11 wickets at an economy of 7.33, Ashwin has also scored 185 runs at a fantastic strike-rate of 146. This batting bit has been a revelation of sorts, with Rajasthan sending him higher up the order in a role of a pinch hitter.

Speaking about his game, Ashwin in an interview with Royals said that Method, madness and courage are the three words that he puts himself under.

“Whatever I’ve done in my life is based on those three words and whatever I end up doing from now on will also be based on those three words.”

Elaborating on the way that he has played in the current edition, Ashwin said that there has always been a method to his madness.

“Madness is more of a perception for people that are looking at me and watching me.”

“What is he doing? Why is he trying so many things? It’s a matter of perception.”

“For me, I’ve never really bothered about what somebody has to think about me because I believed firmly that I should succeed or fail only on my own terms,” Ashwin concluded on the matter.

Rajasthan Royals will be up against a spirited Bangalore who defeated Lucknow Super Giants after a tremendous century from Rajat Patidar. Ashwin will be key for Royals in stopping the RCB spin hitters, who have looked in good touch in the last few matches in the Indian Premier League.

Rajasthan take on Bangalore on Friday, 27 May at 7:30 PM in Ahmedabad.
