Rajasthan Royals are up against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the second qualifier of the Indian Premier League. Being played in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Rajasthan will hope that their best players come to the party and shake off their defeat against Gujarat Titans.
Rajasthan lost in the last over of the game in Eden Gardens after Prasidh Krishna was smacked for three sixes in three back to back balls against David Miller.
Speaking ahead of the game, young Indian all-rounder Riyan Parag who has himself copped a bit of stick from the pundits this season, said that not much was discussed after the game and Rajasthan were trusting their stability to take them through to the finals.
The Royals have been notorious with making too many changes to their playing XI in the past, but have seemed to hit the sweet spot after the mega-auctions in 2022.
“We learnt a lot from the last game. We have discussed a few changes. The team environment is really good. We have got an extra opportunity for finishing second in the table. There has been good vibe from the team. We haven’t discussed much. We had decided before the tournament that we will maintain some balance. We have stuck to that. Our team composition is suitable for every condition and situation,” Parag said ahead of the game.
Speaking about their chances in Qualifier 2, the young India said that they had pretty good chances and with the likes of Trent Boult, Ravi Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal in their line-up, it is difficult to ignore that opinion.
“We have good chances for this game. If you think about pressure, there will be pressure. It is an achievement for me to play at this ground as it is my first game here,” Parag told the broadcaster.
